Catty - "Scratch"

Catty's biggest asset as a band is their unpredictability. They emerged from the now-infamous band lottery conducted by Matthew Sklar of Parrot Dream. Random members of Bushwick bands were thrown together, and charged with creating something new. That insouicance shows up everywhere in Catty's music. There's a few obvious touchstones: the dreaminess of Lush, or the smoldering psychedelia of 14 Iced Bears. But it's besides the point. Their new tapes crunches, and props for putting bassist Manny Nomikos way up in the mix. Most of all, the 4 songs on this tape show the band having fun, and that's really what it's all about.
