FALL OF THE ALBATROSS - "Abscission" EP

With the "Abscission" EP, Fall of the Albatross returns after a 4 year break with 4 tracks of crushing riffage and surprisingly ambient atmospherics. It's pretty clear these guys are insanely talented. The EP is reminiscent of Liturgy if they played more jazz and less black metal. Talking about this EP is like attempting to describe seeing Russian Circles live: "Then they played that one awesome song, that goes BAH BAH boom boom bah BOOM". The stand out track here is "Griever", where emo guitar tropes start to creep into the picture. If you are a fan of metal, prog, or instrumental music in general do yourself a favor and check this EP out.
