POST-HARDCORE BAND GOES ON POST-TICKET SALES TOUR

We’re here with Dust Machines, Allston MA’s foremost proponents of the elusive genre known as “post-hardcore”. For the last month, they’ve been touring around their latest album, “...And They Left Us Like Monuments In The Dawn”. Ticket sales have been sluggish, leaving the Dust Machines boys often playing only to the bartender and his dog. But if you talk to them about it, they wouldn’t have it any other way.

“We actually like playing to empty rooms because the acoustics are better.”

That’s John Lazer, singer and occasional synth player for Dust Machines. He continues:

“Before we went back on the road, we had a long discussion with everyone in the band. We talked about promotion and tour press, and moving beyond all the bullshit that comes with having a successful tour. And with this latest stretch of shows, that’s what we’ve been able to do.”

The band’s guitarist, Mac 11, went even further into their motivations.

“A lot of this is possible because we emerged victorious in the ”Adidas Hardcore Gym”. Basically it’s where 4 crucial hardcore bands all wear Adidas and enter a steel cage to fight to the death. We’re looking forward to also partnering with Red Bull in the future and moving into a phase in our career we call “post-credibility”.
