MOTHPUPPY - "COOL & PRETTY" ALBUM REVIEW

Mothpuppy’s “Cool & Pretty” is 11 tracks filled with lithe guitar parts and Kate Bush-esque histrionic vocals. The presence of a violin give it a folky edge as well. Much like Hop Along, these songs feel like a conversation where a trusted friend or confidant is pouring out their heart to you. There’s a Neutral Milk Hotel surrealist edge to the lyrics as well. This Baltimore band has made an album that grows on you, in the best way.
